- FCC mode works on all drones except for the Mavic Mini.
- The Mavic Mini can only use Boost mode currently and cannot be put into FCC mode in a CE country. If you are in a CE country, you will get CE with Boost mode. If you are in an FCC country, you will get FCC mode with Boost.
- The latest supported models can always be found on our Support Matrix, this is constantly updated when new models are supported, but as an example, we support many of the most popular drones including the DJI Spark, Mini SE, Mini 2, Mini 2 SE, Mini 3 Pro, Mini 4 Pro, Mavic Air, Mavic Air 2, Mavic Air 2s, Mavic Air 3, Mavic Pro, Mavic Pro 2, Mavic 3, the entire Phantom 4 series, FPV Racer, Inspire 2, Avata, Avata 2, Matrice 210V2 & Matrice 300
- You can see if you live in a FCC or CE country by checking This Link from DJI.
- Boost mode does not work on the Smart Controller.
FCC Mode (0.9W): Select the FCC option on the "Hacks/Flash Firmware" page to put the drone into FCC mode only.
Boost Mode (1.5-1.8W): Click to enable FCC mode with Boost, which provides higher RC output than just FCC mode.
Stock Mode: To restore your drone to its factory settings, select this option on the "Hacks/Flash Firmware" page.
- Remember to press the Apply button after selecting your desired signal power.
¶ Safety and Legal Compliance
- All drones are safe to run at increased power levels without issues. They are not set this way out of the factory due to RF frequency laws in various countries.
- If DJI GO4 prompts you for a region change, accept it and enjoy the range increase! This prompt may appear at every startup, indicating that the hack is working.
- Modifications to transmission are only legal when authorized by the relevant authority in your region.
- Changing from CE to FCC/Boost mode does not guarantee farther range but ensures a stronger signal. The range is determined by the amount of WiFi "noise" in your flying area. While our testing usually shows increased range with the hack, it depends on environmental factors.
- For Mavic 2 Pro models, Boost is applied dynamically. As the drone gets further away and the signal strength weakens, the RC starts boosting the signal up to the maximum amount. This feature is designed by DJI.
